I am raising much needed funds for a dear friend with a tough story...
In 2002, Tricia was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) when she started having numbness in her left leg and double vision and was sent for CT scans. The doctors gave her medicine for MS which made her worse to the point she was unable to walk and got very sick. Turns out, Tricia had a blood infection called Mycoplasma, not MS! Many people can have mycoplasma but in Tricia's case, the drugs caused the infection to spread. She was misdiagnosed and the MS treatment suppressed her immune system which rendered her into a wheelchair. Tricia's story hits home as this really could happen to any one of us!
Tricia has done countless therapies and physical rehabilitation for years, she is a fighter who never gives up. Her husband Trevor is her constant supporter in every way.
With advancing technology emerging in stem cell therapy, new treatment is now available for people like Tricia, which she is now embarking upon, but like most new therapies, it is extremely costly and limited to certain facilities. So she is heading to Ukraine for her treatment. Total costs for her trip and treatment is a whopping $25,000 minimum! They are spending their life savings on this trip..
Therefore, I am running a half-marathon February 21, 2016 to raise much needed funds for her expenses. Any amount will make a difference! Thank you!
