"The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." My name is Annalie Whyte and I am an aspiring medical doctor from the parish of St. James, Jamaica. I have been accepted to the University of the West Indies to study MBBS but I am unable to afford the tuition fee of $28 000 USD per year. I have had to take the past year off school because I simply cannot afford it. I have tried applying for several scholarships and to date I have not been successful. I recently went to a prominent banking institution to see if I could borrow a loan but I do not meet the requirements seeing that I am working at a call center and I haven't been employed for two years. I am unable to go through the Student Loan Bureau because I don't have a guarantor and even then, the student loan bureau will only give 25% of tuition if you are approved.
I applied for several scholarships last year including NCB, Burger King and Courts but I was not successful. I have also applied to the Cuban Scholarship but my application was not delivered and I wasn't successful in my quest to get a scholarship to China.
I am currently looking into going to a medical school in China with the approximate cost of $6000 USD per year. Classes will be online for the first semester due to the pandemic. The tuition fee of $4500 USD is due by September 30th and I am short of $2500 USD. I have 10 CSEC subjects and 8 CAPE subjects with 17 ones and a two. I would greatly appreciate it if you could assist me on my medical school journey. It's really saddening to know that I worked so hard in school and now I am at a standstill because money is standing in the way of me and my dream.
Any donation will be greatly appreciated.
