Lepipi Primary school is located in the mountainous regions of Lesotho. This school advocates learning in what used to be an old horse stable, tattered home-made tents for grade 5 and lower grades are take classes outside. I encountered this situation while undertaking a survey on endangered species in the country. This heartbreaking scenario sent me crawling to my feet when i learnt that some kids travel long distances in winter to school only to be taught outside in freezing temperatures. The temperatures here drop so low a Canadian can shiver too. When looking at the tent which was once made to serve as a class during rainy days and now torn beyond repair. The dedication of the children here and teachers is overwhelming because despite all this situations, they show up every morning to learn. All endeavours made with local authorities and organizations to put a roof here have been in vain. It is through us uniting that we can put a warm learning atmosphere over their heads before this winter begins. We are building a bright future for the coming generation today. Let us put smiles on these childrens' faces.
