Funding for Zakiah – A single mom with Buerger’s disease

I'm Zakiah, 34 and I have a son who is only 6 years old and my elderly mother who is looking after us single-handedly.

I’m suffering from Buerger’s Disease as well as Raynaud’s Phenomenon. Buerger's disease is a rare disease of the arteries and veins in the arms and legs. It causes the blood vessels to be inflamed and eventually damages or destroys skin tissues and may lead to infection and gangrene. I've lost my toes and all of my fingers on both hands except for my thumbs due to the disease and require the help of my mother for my daily routines.

I've created this page in response to the support and goodwill that I've received since I was featured in a Channel NewsAsia series called We Are Family. I'm very thankful for all the kind words and encouragement that have been sent to my family. We are coping well with medical support and subsidies from government agencies and beneficiaries.
