Campaign Story
Hello! I'm Priscillia Annabelle Liow - an aspiring scientist, dragonboater and swimmer. Earlier this year, I made a successful application to Northumbria University, to apply for a Bachelor in Biomedical Sciences. This is a course which explores in more depth the areas of research that I found most fascinating during my diploma in Biomedical Sciences, which I read at Management development institute of Singapore college.
Unfortunately, I do not have the financial ability to afford the tuition fees and have been unable to secure any grant - funding opportunities for graduates are extremely limited these days. I do not feel that I can loan any money - my parents are not giving me a helping hand as my guarantors and i do not have much relatives. I have already covered SGD10,000 of my undergraduate degree fees.
Here is a break-down of the fees:
- Tuition fees - SGD 37,000
- Experience fee- SGD 150
- Subscription fee- SGD 240
- Medical insurance fee- SGD 126.17
- Fee protection scheme (FPS)- SGD 157.57
- Rebate- (-SGD 2,500)
Total including gst will be SGD 37,635.90
After deducting what i can cover, it will be SGD 27,635.90
- PayPal fees (3.5%, applied to successful projects) - SGD 967.26
I am currently studying, and paid my second installment for my tuition fee up front. I need to pay my third installment by 17 of April 2018 in order to continue my degree.
Ultimately, my goal is to follow up the degree with a honours. In order to pursue further in the science related field. All donations, even the smallest ones, would be hugely appreciated. I am so excited by the prospect of doing this degree, and if enough people were to give a little something, I might actually be able to.
Thank you in advance for anything you feel you can contribute. I will be eternally grateful!
