Campaign Story
On November 11th 2016, the lives of the Presley family were forever changed. Up until that day Jody and Crystal’s oldest son, Mitchell (Mitch), was a typical outgoing, athletic and academically inclined 16 year old with unlimited dreams and adventures planned. This all changed in an instant when Mitch, who wasn’t feeling well, was rushed to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). Within 3 hours of arriving at CHEO, the Presley Family was hit with the devastating news that Mitch was suffering from Leukemia. In those brief 3 hours, Mitch was diagnosed, admitted and the treatment began immediately.
The Presley family have been dealing with this devastating news for exactly one month.During this time they have learned that Mitch is suffering from Acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), a high-risk, fast-growing cancer of lymphocyte-forming cells. Mitch, a grade 11 student, will not be able to return to St. Mark High School until September of 2017 instead, he will require 9 months of 24 hour care consisting of chemotherapy, multiple blood transfusions, and hospital stays followed by a 3-year maintenance program.
The Presley family will suffer many emotional and financial strains during this time of treatment, recovery and maintenance. Jody has missed and will continue to miss work to care for his son. Crystal has not returned to work since the day of diagnosis and will not be able to return to work for quite some time.
Mitchell, Joey, Jody and Crystal greatly appreciate all of the support, love and well wishes received and continue to receive.
Wishing all who read this Health and Happiness
Thank you!

Two months since diagnosis; and a whirlwind of fear and pain for the Presley's and all who care so deeply for them.
Update posted by Jenn MM at 03:48 amSix weeks after diagnosis and only a few days before Christmas, Mitch was informed that the six-weeks of intensive chemotherapy treatments he endured had no effect on him and his recovery. To add to the devastation, Mitch was also informed that he needs a bone-marrow transplant and will have to. . . . .
