Funding for Masters

I, Chamara Ekanayaka, am starting this campaign to raise US$ 11000 (Course fee $10,500 + platform fees) to cover the costs of my higher education. I enrolled at Oxford Brookes University to complete an MA in Humanitarian Action and Peacebuilding. Current COVID-19 pandemic has affected my professional life and I was not able to reach the financial goals to complete the program which I enrolled in June 2020. I requested an approved withdrawal from the course in December 2020 after realizing that I did not have the necessary funding to pay the course fee and I am scheduled to rejoin the program on September 2021. But with the third wave of the pandemic affecting my employment, it has become a challenge for me to raise the necessary funds. I have created this campaign as an effort to reach the financial target which is necessary to pay the relevant fees and to rejoin the program in September 2021 as scheduled.

I am not a person who is comfortable with asking for help. I had to think more than 1000 times even to ask help from my dearest friends. During my life, whatever the challenges I have faced, I always wanted help others. It is a challenge itself to ask for help and support through this platform as I am much more accustomed to helping others. But in life we come across situations that humble us. I believe this is an occasion like that. I used to advise people: if you need help, just ask and doors will open; life is an experience and you do not know the outcome until you try; etc.. This current situation has put me in a new position, a situation in which I need to be humble enough to follow my own advice. So, through this campaign I am knocking on your door and requesting your support to raise the necessary funds to allow me to complete my education.

Please do not feel bad if you cannot financially contribute towards this campaign as I know it's a challenging time for everyone. If you believe that I am a worthy person who should receive the support from your friends and family, please share this among them requesting their support towards the campaign.
