E’Moyra was born November 15th 2018 at 27weeks weighing 1lb 8oz and exactly 12inces long. She was born with an infection called Cytomegalovirus (CMV). About 1 out of every 200 babies is born with congenital CMV. About 1 out of 5 of these babies will have birth defects or other long-term health problems. Some signs that a baby might have congenital CMV infection when they are born are:
- Small head size
- Liver, spleen, and lung problems and many other problems.
E’Moyras liver, spleen, and kidneys are failing and due to her liver and spleen being so swollen her lungs have no space to expand. Not able to breath on her on she was put on the ventilator last month. The damage from the CMV has also cause brain damage, pulmonary hypertension, and a Vitamin D deficiency called Rickets which causes E’Moyras bones to be like glass and her skull as thin as an egg shell. Which resulted in her having having two broken arms and two broken legs. We’ve been notified by the doctors that there’s not much more they can do far E’Moyra and that they’ve almost reached maximum treatment. Our baby is a fighter. She has been fighting for her life since the day she came into this world and according to the doctors she wasn’t suppose to make it this far but by the grace of God she’s still here and she’s still fighting.
