• Please Help Carl, Funds Needed to Help Cover Vet Bills

On August 8th our beloved dog of 11 years got lose from our fenced in backyard. We hung flyers, contacted/visited animal control (including surrounding counties), drove the streets, visited local vet offices and blew up social media. I was scheduled to have my second son on Aug 10th and would be in the hospital for the next 4 days. We did everything we could possibly think of to bring our sweet, blind dog home. Almost 4 months later, we received a call on Dec 4th from our vet that Carl was found, but in bad condition. A family from a neighboring town had him and brought him in the vet to be put down. His stomach was twisted, bloated and he was unable to breath. His ear was swollen with fluid from some kind of trauma. He had fleas, was dirty and underweight. The vet thought he recognized him and checked the microchip to confirm. We were contacted immediately to come and potentially say our goodbyes. Surgery was needed to correct his stomach or he was going to die. It didn't look good, but Carl is a fighter. He is recovering and doing well! Tomorrow (12/6) will be Carl's 12th birthday. We are extremely happy to have him back, but unfortunately left with a hefty vet bill. We are extremely grateful for any help. We live on a very tight budget and this unexpected cost during this time of year is quite the burden.
