Hello, I am Jack Syahir Ezekiel Rafa'ee, a final year film student in Nanyang Technological University's School of Art, Design and Media. I will be Directing and Producing 2 different short films respectively for my Final Year Project and I'm in the process of raising funds for them.
The funds raised will go directly to the expenditure of these two films. For example, defraying the cost of transportation of equipment, rental of supplementary camera rigs, purchasing of music licenses and the cost of locations that I will potentially be using for the respective films, just to name a few.
Your help, regardless the amount, will go a long way in allowing me and my team to create these films with an ease of mind, to the best of our abilities. It is also an enormous and evident indication of your belief and trust in me and my crew to share our stories through film. How often are you able to say, "I've played a part in this film"? Not often, right? Your contribution will definitely play a huge part in the films that will be created and will go a long way for us indefinitely.
Allow me to share the synopsis of the film that I will be directing. It's working title is "The Boy, The Bands and The Concept of Forever". It is a story of coming of age about a High School boy named Zac, whose inner desire is to explore the world but is always suppressed by religious and educational dogma. He respects authority but he slowly realises that he has always been meeting others' expectations of him and is unable to fulfill his true desires. Things begin to change when he meets Kester at an unexpected place - detention - and their friendship finally opens the veils to his eyes to the world he has been longing to experience. Their common interest in rock music catalyses Zac's inner desires to spend the night in a bar. He sneaks out of home to get there and in it, he is overwhelmed by the night as he experiences many "firsts" that eventful night. Their friendship blossom to the extent where Zac has to eventually sacrifice his own educational pursuit to save Kester's - an act that shows he finally makes a decision that is truly for himself. In the end, we see Zac falling from grace, but he is truly happy as he is able to finally find his own happiness.
As I close, I thank you in advance for your patronage and I will do my utmost best to present to you these two films that you will definitely enjoy and remember.
