Fight against sexual assault of conscripts in Thailand’s military

My dear friend has been conscripted into Thai Military and instead of receiving proper training he was subjected to physical, mental and sexual abuse. He was a kind and forgiving man but after he was discharged, he became like a different person. He is now very aggressive, quick to anger and cold. I was a victim of sexual abuse when I was a child as well, so I know how terrible, complicated and lengthly the recovery can be.

Basically, based on information that is widely circulate (Including Amnesty International Reports), the conscripts barely receive any training at all, just humiliation and violence inflicting on them. The law enforcement are not willing to do anything and if there is any complaints, the conscripts will be subject to more punishment.

We have been working with media and PR firms which they insist on anonymity, fearing the repercussion from Thai's suppressive military government.

What are we going to do with your donation

We are planning on producing an easy to swallow content; a Music Video to be exact, in collaboration with a rock group who's daring enough to put themselves on the line. We are planning to make the content to show that young people that they have the rights to their body and have all the rights to defend it as well. What is happening in the barrack right now is blatantly violation of human rights.

At the same time, we will produce the content for international audience as well. This way, when a foreigner who wish to visit or spend money in the country would know that the very money they have spent have indirectly (i.e. via tax) gone to finance this kind of activity.
