Campaign Story
AdventistHelp, a Swiss Registered Humanitarian NGO has partnered with the Uganda office of the Adventist Development and Relief Agency to develop a comprehensive health facility in one of the most rapidly enlarging refugee settlements in the region - the Kyaka 2 settlement.
It’s an arrival point for thousands of refugees fleeing the horrific ethnic violence in Eastern DRC. Current population stands at around 80 thousand and is enlarging daily.
This fundraiser is to help us bridge a crucial gap in local healthcare - the provision of adequate mental health services. We are planning on a basic, but well equipped mental health facility that will be staffed with a small local team of mental health practitioners and complemented by international psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses and psychologists.
See attached mental health report from one of our mental health specialists Eileen Carr, who did a formal assessment of the situation in Kyaka 2 this month.
