Last January, I did a volunteer work in a daycare center in Manila and found that most daycare centers and public schools lack the necessary supplies and materials to provide an adequate education to the public school students. From here, I decided that since my birthday falls on June, which is the start of a school year in the Philippines, I would try to help some public schools by providing school bags, school supplies(pencils, papers, notebooks) and materials (posters, books, etc.). I started saving but I realized that June is just around the corner and I don't have enough cash to buy the materials.
With this, I'm hoping to raise more funds in order to complete the materials to donate for Brigada Eskwela.
In order to have an approximate, I'm providing the canvas of materials:
Target number of students: at least 40 (one class)
Bags: Php 50-100
Crayons (8pcs): Php 20
Pencil: Php 6
Eraser: Php 5
Notebooks: Php 10
Pad Paper: Php 15
For the School:
Numbers Chart and other Posters: Php 30/piece
Manila Papers: Php 5
Markers: Php 40
Ballpens: Php 5
To know more about other materials needed by schools, you can read the article: https://www.teacherph.com/2018-brigada-eskwela/
Studying is already difficult when you do not have proper meals on the table. Many students are discouraged to go to school because they do not have the materials required by the school. If we can help a student, that's one future brighter.
I'm still coordinating with the recipients, but the the location would either be a public school in Manila or in Antique. I'll update when the details have been finalized.
