Campaign Story
Hi everyone. I am taking this opportunity to explain the condition of my son Lester John. To everyone who's asking, he is in the Pediatric ICU at the moment recovering from his surgery last saturday at The Medical city.
Lester is a very active and healthy baby. although he was premature when I gave birth to him at 8 months. He was tiny when he came out at 2kgs. But I patiently devoted my time to breastfeed him until his weight was normal. Wednesday, May 29, when he had a cold and fever later on that night. The next day we noticed then that his tummy was slightly bigger than the usual. It was as if he was having dyspepsia. The next day after his fever got worse and started vomiting. We took him to the nearest hospital to have him checked because he couldn't sleep that night. He had his CBC, urinalysis and x-ray. The general practitioner told us then that as per the x-ray there is an obstruction in his intestine (Large intestine) that was causing the air inside his tummy. There was no pedia at the hospital that time so we had to go back home and wait. The next day we decided to have a second opinion on his condition. It was then, the pedia told us that he has to be admitted to a hospital, Not just any hospital but a big hospital that will accommodate a surgery for his condition. And knowing his very fragile state (he's only 1yr old and 1 month) We were referred to go to The Medical city. That day on we went straight to the pedia ER and stayed there until we were admitted. Alot of tests was conducted on that day. He was then diagnosed with PARTIAL GUT OBSTRUCTION SECONDARY TO VULVUS SECONDARY TO INTESTINAL MALROTATION. Our pedia surgeon did try to avoid surgery and took all the possible ways for my baby to feel better. He explained that this was congenital. I saw how exhausted he was throughout this journey. He was always running out of air but still managed to undergo all the x-rays and finally, his surgery.(major surgery) My baby endured everything up to now that he is currently recovering.
As a mother, words cannot express how excruciating it is to have witnessed everything that has happened to my son. But still thankful, especially to our Lord Almighty, who gave him the strength to endure everything.
I am humbly asking everyone for your prayers for my baby. Thank you to all who are sending me messages. I appreciate every message from you. I'm sorry I couldn't reply to every single one of you but please know that I read every message. To my family who has always been supportive in every way.
Also, unfortunately, we are in deep need of fundings for the expenses in the hospital. Any amount of donation from you would be of great help for us. Please PM me for further infos. Thank you very much.
