Fund Raising For Glenda Medical Treatment

Glenda Godoy Barroga has been with my family since my daughter was 6 and a half months old since 2006. It has beensinc 14 years and Glenda is now 53 years old. She has been committed to taking care of my family.

Before Wednesday, 9 February 2022, Glenda observed that her eye was swollen and her tongue seemed frozen. Glenda asked the kids to accompany her to TTSH A&E. At the point of time, she was able to walk then.

The doctor said Glenda had a stroke on the right side. While in hospital, her condition worsened, as in, because the stroke was in the right brain, Glenda's left side is affected. She is not able to walk unaided. Because of her worsening condition, Glenda had another brain scan done to ascertain it isn't a new stroke which is not from what they've assessed. She also had laser done in her right eye to reduce pressure that's affected her vision.

Glenda will be transferred to Ang Mo Kio Community Hospital to continue rehabilitation therapy this week.

The medical expenses at TTSH are about $12,000 already and with the rehabilitation, the costs will continue to rise up. Glenda is only covered for $15K insurance.

We cannot send Glenda back now to her family, as flying may trigger another stroke.

We want to be able to offer Glenda the medical treatment needed for her recovery, however finances are really tight. My son and I have a take home pay of only $2,000. My husband is currently warded in a Home for treatment of Parkinson’s disease. Today I was informed that he has been transferred to KTPH/ YCH.
