A WOMAN with a lot of dreams.
A WOMAN who aspires to be a lawyer.
A SINGLE MOTHER who strives to give her two-year old daughter a bright future.
That is EOTESA NATIVIDAD.
EOTESA resigned from her job to go back to school. To study law. SHE is in the midst of her preparation in achieving HER dreams. A dream that promises a bright tomorrow not for HER but for her DAUGHTER who is HER LIFE. In a blink of an eye everything shattered into pieces.
May 20, 2018 was when everything started. EOTESA was confined in a hospital due to HYPERTENSION. SHE was discharged from the hospital. Since then everything changed.
On May 29, 2018 SHE was confined again in a hospital immediately after HER check-up. HER hemoglobin was too low thus SHE underwent several BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS. A RENAL BIOPSY was also done. And on May 31, 2018, EOTESA was diagnosed with SYSTEMIC LUPUS ERYTHEMATOSUS MODERATE-SEVERE DISEASE ACTIVITY WITH BICYTOPENIA WITH LUPUS NEPHRITIS. Nevertheless, SHE was able to go home. However, things continued to go downhill.
Just a few days after SHE was discharged from the hospital SHE was rushed back again due to SEVERE STOMACHACHE AND VOMITING. Again, SHE was confined and underwent another set of BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS. Again, SHE was discharged and was able to go home. But the worst was yet to come.
A supposed checkup last June 19, 2018 ended up to another confinement in the hospital. That night, HER HEALTH CONDITION rapidly deteriorated that the doctors had to rushed back to attend to HER. Only 35% of HER heart was functioning. The next day, SHE was transferred to the ICU unit for close monitoring. There a TUBE was inserted directly to HER lungs to aide HER breathing as well as to remove FLUIDS in the lungs. NGT was also inserted. DIALYSIS was administered daily and BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS depending on HER hemoglobin level for the day.
SHE fought back as hard as SHE could for her DAUGHTER and after a few days HER life support was removed one by one. Soon SHE was transferred to a regular room. And days after SHE was able to go home.
At present, SHE was diagnosed with SYSTEMIC LUPUS ERYTHEMATOSUS; LUPUS MYOCARDITIS; LUPUS NEPHRITIS and CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE.
Although SHE was able to go home and be with her DAUGHTER, HER future remains bleak. SHE is TOO WEAK TO WORK.
The next TWO YEARS will be a very critical period for HER healthwise. Many medications were prescribed to suppress the aggressiveness of LUPUS and to ensure normal hemoglobin level. However, despite the many medications, SHE will remain susceptible to VIRUS AND INFECTIONS. SHE is also prone to CARDIOVASCULAR AND BLOOD MANIFESTATIONS OF LUPUS as well as PULMONARY HYPERTENSION. Thus, SHE is required to have REGULAR ROUTINE CHECKUPS AND LABORATORY EXAMINATIONS. LOW HEMOGLOBIN LEVEL will automatically require her to undergo BLOOD TRANSFUSION. She also needs DIALYSIS TREATMENT three times a week.
