On November 11th I'll be running the Classic Athens Marathon for the Animal Charity - ANIMA (below). They are a fantastic charity helping to look after the thousands of animals that were injured during the fires, as well as trying to prevent such events from happening in the future.
I dramatically declared "No more Marathons, ever - too much pain!" after my last. However, after the Athens fires in July I decided I need to try and do my bit to help. Sadly, I have a very limited skill set that is only useful for examining things on the molecular level - something only about 5 people care about. So in order to raise some cash dollah I'm left with having to dig my running shoes out of the cupboard and fund raising instead.
Any amount you can afford to donate, be it a Scrouge McDuck sack of gold or some spare change you have in the bottom of your pocket will go a long way to helping animals in need and prevent future catastrophes like this one.
Thanks for your help :D
ANIMA — Association for the Protection and Welfare of Wildlife — is an Athens-based NGO that focuses on protecting and caring for wildlife by nursing and releasing injured wild animals. The association also focuses on forest protection and has organized various forest restoration efforts in the past. Currently, ANIMA is collecting donations in order to buy specialized animal medicines that it orders from abroad.
