FUND HASSAN STOFFEL FOR A GOOD CAUSE: TO STUDY MASTERS IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION – SPORTS MANAGEMENT AT UNIVERSITY OF BOTSWANA
With so much passion and dedication in sports, with experience of over six years in sports administration and coaching - Hassan Stoffel, a 27 year old Botswana native needs your assistance in obtaining a qualification. I would like to further my studies and acquire more aspects of sport management as well as engage in more enhanced practical opportunities that are aligned to my career path of becoming a great sports leader in my future endeavors. Team sport and football administration have so far convinced me that this would be a challenging yet exciting and rewarding career path.
My main task at the moment now is to mobilise tuition funds in order to get the ball rolling. During my undergraduate studies (BBA in Tourism and Hospitality) at University of Botswana (UB) I accumulated a good number of credits through sport related courses such as Principles of Sport Management, Sociology of Sport, Sport Marketing, Facility Management, Psychology of Sport and Health and Wellness from the Department of Physical Education. I also studied other sport related course Principles of Management, Events and Conference Management from various department within UB.

Above and beyond these academic courses I underwent various sport admin and management courses such as a Federation Internationalé de Football Association (FIFA) Administration and Management course in 2016 facilitated by the Botswana Football Association (BFA), an International Olympic Committee (IOC) Professional Sport Management Introductory Online Course in 2020. Moreover, I have underwent coaching courses such as BFA Preliminary Coaching course in 2015, a FIFA Youth Coaching Course in 2016, a BFA Grassroots Coaching Course in 2020 as well as a German Football Association (DFB) and GIZ Future Leaders in Football Course in 2021.
Currently, I serve as the UB Kicks Ladies Football Team as a Manager and Assistant Coach since 2016. I also serve on the Botswana Football Association - National Youth Football Committee as a Member as well as a Secretary at the BFA - Gaborone Region Youth Football Committee from 2016 to 2021. I have represented my country, Botswana, during the Confederation of University and Colleges Sports Association (CUCSA) games in 2018 as an Assistant Coach for Team Botswana Ladies Football Team. I am also a Resident Football Analyst on Yarona FM and occassional analyst of Premier League Live on YTV, formerly E-Botswana TV.
Prior to all the above mention I volunteered as a Sport Development Officer as well as a Football Coach for the Under 15 and Under 17 teams at Bona Naledi Non-Profit Making Organisation. In 2017 I was awarded Sports Leadership Award by the UB – Department of Culture Sports and Recreation CSR), in the year 2020 I was a nominee for the Volunteer Coach of The Year at the UB - CSR awards.

My keen interest is in: Development of sport in in Botswana, Importance of long-term organizational strategies; What sport means to Botswana; The importance of women participation in football and similar sports; Corruption issues in football.
It should be noted that this post graduate program would be very beneficial not only to me but also to the football fraternity as I shall impart the knowledge gained from this particular field of study to different football structures (clubs, regions and the BFA).
