We are a married couple with a 17 year old son living in the wonderful countryside of central France.
We have purchased a 200 year old property consisting of a Longere house, two large barns and almost 4 acres of land. We have with us a horse, 2 shetland ponies, a miniature horse, 2 peacocks, several chickens, ducks and cats some of which have been rescued.
Since buying the property we have cleared the land and began some of the renovation works necessary to create a home for us and two gites.
We are now running short of funds and need financial help from friends, family and anyone kind enough to help in order to finish the project.
Our plan is to construct two gites, one of three bedrooms and one of two bedrooms. They will retain the integrity of the old french tradional french houses in the area but with modern facilities aimed at couples and families looking for a place to relax and recharge. We are situated deep in the tranquil Auvergne countryside of France with far reaching views, where time seems to have stood still and life goes on at a very unhurried pace.
There are many attractions in the area from ten-pin bowling, canoeing, recreational lakes to visiting the extinct volcanic region of the Auvergne to name but a few.
We have researched the area and found that there is insufficient accommodation for holiday makers in this area. The few that are here are usually fully booked in the summer months and partially during the rest of the year.
Funds are now required for a new drainage system (septic tank) and a new roof. Following on from this the works will continue with insulating, plumbing, electrics and finishing off the interior.
For each hundred euros a person donates they will receive one free night accommodation for themselves and up to two guests in one of our gites, once completed and to suit availability.
Many thanks to anyone that donates to this cause as we are really struggling to get our plans to take shape. We have a good idea with lots of potential just need to be able to complete what we set out to do.
