Campaign Story
Hello, I am Omar. I am a refugee from Syria. Since coming to Europe to escape the war in my country I have spent 10 months helping people in Lesvos. I am currently volunteering full time for an NGO called Lighthouse Relief. We provide assistance to people arriving by boat to the north coast of Lesvos. I want to continue helping people who have made the same journey that I had to.
I have been unable to find a job in Greece to fund my volunteering . The financial crisis in Greece means that there is no work available. I have now spent all of my savings helping people.
I feel a great responsibility to stay in Greece and use my skills and experience to continue helping people. Please help me to do this by donating what you can afford and sharing this appeal.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
