Fund My MedSchool Internship

Hi there!

I am a fourth year medical student at Stellenbosch University. I come from Bergville a small town in the Drakensburg of Kwa-ZuluNatal. Part of undergraduate studies includes a medical elective module where you do any rotation, research or study related to health. I have chosen to do my elective in Public Health and have been selected to do it with the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) in Washington, D.C in November 2018. I am in need of your help.

I need financial assistance for my flights, accommodation and living expenses. I would truly appreciate your help with this.

I have chosen Public Health because it is a field I have found great interest in. I have always seen myself as a change agent and leader and have realised that this field cultivates just that. Public Health deals with patients health at a population level. The role is to identify problems and challenges communities are facing and manage systems and processes that prevent, alleviate and better those problems. I will be focused on advocacy and want to further learn about the role health professionals and students can play in advocating for patients and contributing to better health care. I am interested in learning about health systems on a governing level and then being able to share that information with colleagues. I will have an opportunity to write a paper at the end of my elective reporting on my findings which is exciting and I can not wait to share this with you!
