Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi wabarakatu,
Hello from Muslims in Oamaru,
We are Muslim community base in small town in New Zealand called Oamaru. That very well known as Victorian town with the Blue Penguin colony and Steampunk. We are small but growing Muslim community that mix culture from Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Fiji, Jordan, Turkey, Bangladesh, Srilanka and Egypt.
When I started this campaign we used to move from house to house for our activity such as
Sholat fardu, Taraweh , Iftar, Reading Qur'an lesson for kids and
Regular lesson about Islam for Adult.
Until one of Brother Community kindly let us use his house Garage as Temporary place for Pray activity. This garage capacity is 25 people for all adult or up to 30 people if we mix adult and kids meanwhile the Muslim population in Oamaru its around 60 people this tell us that if all of us come to gathering and want to pray together there is no enough space.
Oamaru is transit place for people traveling within the South Island. And when our Muslim brothers and sisters transit and looking for place to pray as well as to fresh up. It would have been better if we had a proper place where they can use the toilet at the same time.
Because of your Generous Donation since 27 January 2017 we have manage to rent this place at 2 Trent Street , Oamaru.
Still we aim own property that might cost between $ 350.000 - $ 550.000 ,BUT till then we are trying hard to maintain what we have. Our monthly Bill is about $1350 per month to cover rent and utility bill and we have manage to stay on with your support Alhamdulillah.
Our
income so far is pure from donation from you through this fundraiser website, the member of the community
and some people that come to the Centre to Pray Jamaah.
This is a very big opportunity for Muslim brother and sister to make perpetual charity by giving donation.
