Fund for my A-Level exam.

I am a self-studied student for three A-Level subjects (Biology, Mathematics and Geography) who will be taking the Edexcel specs exam at an organisation called British Council (the only organisation to take the exam as a private candidate) in Malaysia in January 2019. The fees should be paid two months prior before the exam date for the fees to be cheaper. The late fees are doubled the original price which will be very much expensive.

*These are the 2018 application form showing the fixed prices for the exams at British Council, I'm taking Biology, Maths (C12+C34+[S1+M1]) and Geography (which has two more units for the A2 level. I don't know why it didn't show.)

*The currency shown is the Malaysian currency.

My dad has retired for two years and currently living off his retiree income while my mum an auditor at the local airline company Malaysia Airlines Berhad. I have four older sisters and I'm the youngest at 18. Only my older sister is working while the others are still studying which requires my parents a lot of spending on their courses. This leads to a financial crisis in our family and being the youngest, I received the end of the stick and difficult to fund my studies which is why I chose the cheapest option for A-level by self-studying and take my exam as a private candidate at British Council.

Although, it is still pricey for my parents since the exams charge by units (subtopics) as shown in the picture above. The reason why I chose A-level is to pursue my dream of studying at top universities in the UK in either Natural Science courses or Geology. In order to do that I need to take my A-levels to reach their requirement since their other international requirement is either much expensive, cannot be self-studied or not available in Malaysia.

Before A-level, I did my SPM where I got 6A's (Science, Bahasa Melayu, English, Account, History, Art). I got accepted in local public university UITM in Diploma of Hotel Management but I quit after finishing a first semester where I got the dean's list for achieving a good GPA of 3.6. The reason why I don't want to continue is the fact that I'm not interested in hospitality course and every day I felt like shit because I thought I lost my hope for my preferred career because hospitality is far from a science route. It's difficult to apply for a science course for degree if you already taking a diploma in hospitality which is why I quit and do something that could take me back to my route. When there's a will, there's a way. I can't please anyone but I can work for it, I'm going to make my parents proud by working hard on my A-levels.

Everyday, I studied 7-8 hours, the minimum would be 2 hours and Sunday is my 'rest day'. it took me 2-3 months to finish the whole Mathematics subject and the A2 level of Biology a half of my Geography. I did practices every day with only my motivation and dedication to coach myself on finishing it and understanding every topics and concept. It's difficult to do it on your own without a tutor, guidance and lacking social connection (no friends, really sad) but I remind myself that there's a bright future ahead of me, work hard and be the pioneer on making the world a better place.

Nature and science are so interesting, I like how everything connects and when there's a flaw in a theory, you could come up with your own and compare which really does make sense. The world, the space, the dimension is a mysterious, beautiful law that filled with so many information to study that keeps on expanding every single second of our life. I want to build a world where it's beautiful to live and easy to adapt. They said world peace is impossible but I believe peace can be achieved. It may not be global but slowly, it surely be spread even if there's peace in a small land, there's always hope. For human, the animals and all the living creatures.

My goal for A-level is A*A*A*, the maximum expectation and I will strive for it even if some said that it's impossible for a self-studied student. I will get into a top UK university, getting a scholarship and reach for my dream. Your help increases my chance and I will forever cherish your help in enabling me to reach for my dream. We are human, living breathing creature and we are capable when we have the dedication and sincerity in helping.

Thank you for listening to my story :)
