Raising a special child diagnosed with global developmental delay has not always been easy but always rewarding. Eira is our first born. It has been a difficult pregnancy. But she is worth it. She came out a few weeks too early, ready to conquer the world. In a snap, our lives changed. Our dreams simplified: we want nothing more than to see her thrive and grow independent. Families and friends closest to us knew that she’s always been a happy spirit and she made us better parents, better persons.
Our journey has been a series of ER rush, hospital beds, high-dosed antibiotics, and steroids. The hospital became almost our second home, walking in and out during the early years of her life.
And just when we thought we came past the most difficult years, she manifested symptoms recurring lung infection. We rushed her to the ER when she failed to respond to her medications. It has been 24 days today and counting. She was seen by four specialists and scheduled to see three others for workup on all other issues that will help her thrive and support her healthy growth. Our biggest challenge at this time is to drain the water in her lungs. We look forward to brighter days trusting in God’s plan that she will heal in His time.
In the meantime, we need help. Our funds are draining to continue her medication and we struggle to raise the amount she still needs in so short a time. To our dearest friends and families, thank you to all your powerful prayers and generous help in many different ways that strengthen us to keep going. We started a fundraiser that will help continue Eira’s medication and fund her medical bills, and we hope you can support us in any of the two ways we've set up—
We are forever grateful and indebted to you. Again, many thanks to all and may God grant us the opportunity to pay it forward sooner. You can contact us at +63-908-8958-814.
