Fund Education For South African Children

It is with great pride that we announce the launch of Ruhe Academy, a small home based school that

promises active involvement in every step of children’s educational, personal, and emotional development and wellbeing.

The school’s motto is “Education, empathy, and compassion”, three things which the school’s founder, Sumaya Moosa, values deeply and will instil this in every child who enters the doors of Ruhe Academy.

We at the academy believe that each child is different, has different needs, and should receive an education that supports their unique and distinctive traits so that they do not lose whatever makes them special in the sea of uniformity and worldly pressures. We do this while keeping to regulated syllabi and ensure that while nurturing your child’s individuality, we do not lose sight of the education that is required for success in the academic sphere.

The name, Ruhe, means tranquillity and peacefulness, which we hope to bring about in each child’s life at the school, given the fast-paced and stressful demands of the world now. Studies have shown that approximately 13% of children will have an anxiety disorder and medical treatment is only reactive and retrospective. The chances of children performing poorly in school and having issues with substance abuse are high should these anxieties not be eliminated from the place where they spend most of their time - school.

Through a coming together of education and child psychology, we hope to amalgamate the educational sphere and the creation of an environment where your child can flourish to be the best they can be. You can rest assured they will never lose that sense of wonder and curiosity but will be given the tools to find out the answers to their millions of questions.

Ruhe Academy deeply believes in every child's right to a quality education in a nurturing environment. We therefore wish to enrol students who cannot afford a quality education and to pay for their curriculum and schooling. This will only be possibly with the coming together of individuals and community as this monumental task cannot be accomplished alone.
