My name is Susana Rosende, and I am the President of Write Way Designs, a communications company that offers technical, creative, and editorial solutions for specialized business needs. In addition to offering great service to our clients, Write Way Designs has a mission to give back to the community for causes and charities that touch our hearts. That is why we have a Charities page on our website at http://www.writewaydesigns.com/charities.php to bring awareness to causes and encourage others to volunteer and donate.

I am not only the President of Write Way Designs, I am also a mom, and I have a personal reason for helping the Kolker family. Twenty-four years ago, my second child born with a congenital birth defect. The HMO insurance my young husband had with his company did not cover multiple ultrasounds that may have prepared us for our son's urgent surgery upon birth, as well as prompted us to give birth at a hospital that would have better served his needs. Our son, Sean, did not survive, and in the stressful aftermath of grief and medical bills, neither did our family, as my young husband and I divorced within the year.

Christian Kolker is the nephew of my next-door neighbor in Cocoa Beach, Florida. I have gotten to know the family. Christian's plight and his young parents' situation touched us at Write Way Designs very deeply, and me, on a very personal level. Helping Christian Kolker and his family is a cause we believe in as a company and as human beings wanting to make a difference in the life of a child and his family.

Christian Kolker is the youngest of three children of a police deputy dad and a schoolteacher mom. Chritian was born with a blocked heart. He is now three-years-old and needs Pacemaker surgery that his family cannot afford.

Christian's mom has taken an unpaid leave to care for him during recovery. Because the family has recently moved back to Brevard County, the job health insurance for has not yet kicked in for either parent. Christian's dad recently purchased independent insurance, but it costs more than their monthly house payment, and this family of five may lose their home to pay for their youngest child's surgery and ongoing medical bills.

There is no doubt that these are hard times for everyone. So many folks have lost their jobs and homes in this economy. So many folks do not have health insurance to cover their medical needs. But, I hope folks will please consider donating anything they can to help little Christian Kolker get the surgery he needs. I urge everyone to please donate whatever you can...even $1...which is less than a pack of cigarrettes, cup of coffee, candy bar, or soda pop! Every little bit helps. Every little bit counts. Together, I believe we can make a difference in the life this little child and his family.

I thank you for your generosity and for anything you may give to help.
