“To waste, to destroy our natural resources, to skin and exhaust the land instead of using it so as to increase its usefulness, will result in undermining in the days of our children the very prosperity which we ought by right to hand down to them amplified and developed.”

― Theodore Roosevelt

We live in an age where we have to fight with our own governments to protect the very life sustaining force on this planet – Forests & Wildlife. The dense tropical forest of Nosy Komba, Madagascar is home to many of the iconic wildlife species. Indigenous species which are unfortunately endangered, predominantly due to illegal habitat destruction.

I aim to do give my morsel of contribution in defending this rich biodiversity from localized threats and sustain them. I intend to raise money which would contribute to the protection of the highly threatened Sambirano forsts in Northwest Madagascar via species identification and changes in forest dynamics, opportunistic surveys, behavior monitoring, population assessments etc.

Any donation, no matter how small, will go towards facilitating these conservation efforts via conducting field surveys, setting up necessary equipment, collate data, analyze findings and enhance the regions quality of life for the locals, the wildlife and the forest holistically.

Your support is much appreciated! Many many thanks!

Born in the northern part of the India and raised in the southern side of the country, I did my BA(hons) in Finance, Accounting & Management from the University of Nottingham, UK. Using my family’s infrastructure and finance I started a business to do with products in architecture & interiors with focus on using sustainable commodities in emerging markets and is doing pretty well since the time of its inception. Sustainability and environmental conservation form a great part of my interests and I wish to take this volunteering opportunity to do my bit in administering that passion in real time so that I understand what goes behind and do even more in coming times in the field. I have previously volunteered with an NGO called Auro foundation in Uganda helping them manage a technical school which works on a grassroots level with communities in extremely remote areas. The school teaches them elementary skills such as bricklaying, carpentry, sewing, math and English enabling them to obtain a basic level of employment in surrounding towns. This is my second opportunity in giving back to the wonderful country of Madagascar for the richness of flora and fauna they provide our ecosystem with and is currently endangered. Reading non-fiction books, hiking, off-beat travelling, swimming etc are some of the other things I like doing when I am not professionally engaged. I believe that political bionetwork of a country determines to a very great extent the speed and precision with which a particular community progresses and have a keen interest in policy making on that front.
