Frozen Love

For many years being lactose intolerant I was unable to consume dairy products especially ice-cream which I love so much. I found out later that there are many people out there who also face the same situation. Not being able to enjoy the creaminess and deliciousness of ice-cream. So I took it upon myself to make my own ice-cream.

In 2015 I started making various flavors that were not only unique in taste but were also something other people had not attempted. I created flavors such as avocado ice-cream, beetroot ice-cream, black vanilla ice-cream, oreo ice-cream. These were done in small quantities and among friends, family, work colleagues it was really a success.

I then looked at making it more healthier while not reducing on flavor by using fat free creams and more natural ingredients like real pistachios and real fruits. To cater for myself and those who are lactose intolerant I started to make ice-cream with lactose free cream. Recently I approached a food franchise and was told that If I could supply them on a weekly basis ice-cream they would certainly take me on as a supplier which I am really ecstatic about.

The only problem is that the quantity they asked for to be supplied is beyond my production capability. So I started looking around for ice-cream machines that could facilitate the job of making the required quantity. It seems a bit much and something I certainly won't be able to afford. The actual cost of the machine is set at R20 999,00 which I don't have and without the machine would not be able to help my small business reach a stage that could help it expand and make a difference.
