Frontliner Eyek Needs Our Help!

Hello Friends of the Internet!

I am starting another fundraiser and this time, for my Uncle Eyek. Uncle Eyek or more known by his colleagues and friends as Derique Israel, is a frontliner, a head of EMS (Emergency Medical Services) stationed in Naga City, Camarines Sur, Philippines.

As the youngest of my uncles, he is known as the easy-going and funniest of the Israels. Uncle Eyek has brought joy and reluctant service not only to his family but to most of the people in Naga City. Despite his age and the dangers that might happen brought by his job, he was very active and was dealing hand in hand, face to face with COVID-19 cases since the pandemic started in their region. His usual tasks was to fetch and assist COVID-19 patients to different quarantine facilities and diagnostic centers around Naga City. We usually check up on him from time to time to make sure he is keeping himself safe despite the situation and he was very much okay for the past couple of months.

However, because of his diabetes complications, his stamina dropped and he had another unhealed wound in his toe causing him to difficulties in walking. And because of his uncontrolled blood sugar, his foot might need to be amputated if it gets worst.

Some of his laboratory tests are not covered with his HMO and we figured out to start a fundraiser to help us raise more and have him tested as soon as possible since his condition is getting worst. Being exposed in the hospital is also not helping since there are also COVID-19 patients that can infect him any second. He is also having difficulty in breathing now and doctors are having a hard time deciding whether he is physically fit to undergo surgery.

Kumusta mga kaibigan ko sa Internet!

Ako po ay muling nagorganize ng isang fundraiser or pangangalap ng pondo para sa aking Uncle Eyek. Uncle Eyek, (o mas kilala ng kanyang mga kaibigan and kamag-anak bilang si Derique Israel), ay isang Head ng EMS (Emergency Medical Services) na nakadistino po sa Naga City, Camarines Sur, Philippines.

Siya po ay isa sa napakarami pa nating bayaning frontliners na patuloy tayong sinasagip sa pandemyang ating nararanasan ngayon. Siya ay isa sa mga nurses na nakatalaga na maghatid-sundo sa mga COVID-19 patients mula at papunta sa mga quarantine facilities at diagnostic centers sa rehiyon ng Bicol.

Ngunit dahil na rin po sa kanyang edad at mga komplikasyon gaya ng diabetes, tuluyan na pong bumagsak ay stamina ni Uncle Eyek nitong mga nakaraang linggo. Mayroon din po siyang malaking sugat na nakapagpahirap sa kanyang pagkilos at paglalakad kaya hindi na rin siya makapagtrabaho. Nahihirapan na rin po siyang huminga na nagpapaliit ng chance niyang sumailalim sa ano mang operasyon. Ang payo po sa amin ng doctor ay kapag lumala pa ang kanyang sugat sa paa ay maaari po itong putulin at nangangailan ang operation na ito ng malaking halaga. Kaya po kami ay gumawa ng fundraiser upang makatulong sa kanyang tuloy-tuloy na pagpapagamot at nalalapit na operasyon.
