From Wisconsin to California

Hello! My name is Jacob Byrd and I'm from Wisconsin. Like all perspective college students I ask myself the same inevitable question about my future: how am I going to pay for it? Coming from a small town in Wisconsin where everyone likes to stay near home, I decided I would dream big and apply to schools in the East and West coasts. Coming from a history of being in musicals, plays, numerous clubs, writing my own film scripts etc, I thought going to school somewhere where I would have a real shot of achieving my goals would make all those years in a small town worth it. After applying to many schools I found out I was accepted into Columbia College Hollywood in Los Angeles, California with a major in Film Directing. What?! I was ecstatic until my parents questioned how I would pull it off financially. Throughout my life, my family always struggled financially. My parents were never married and my mom being on disability with my dad having to support 6+ people in a household, they can't support me on my journey to college. The main goal of this fundraiser is to get any aid I can in being able to go to the school of my dreams and hopefully show that anyone can achieve their dreams if they work at it. :)     If you have any questions, feel free to ask. :)
