From the Hill I Can See Everything That Ever Happened to Us Here.
WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
Has the devil ever worn an ugly face?
Grace, Annabelle, Thomas, Eliot and Susanna are five young adults living in the beautiful and ancient, yet mercurial and drunk city of Edinburgh. They waste away hours in clubs and bars and sleep away the daylight in expensive flats. To be young, rich, beautiful and free is all we hope for …
And yet, after the death of their friend Clinton, a shocking start to the film that sends ripples through the remaining storyline, existential angst crawls out of the woodwork like worms. The bonds of their friendship and the bounds of their sanity begin to deteriorate, with the express help of the beautiful, Machiavellian main character, Grace.
WHO ARE WE?
Hi, we're Neon Eye. We’re making our first feature film. This is exciting. We would like your help.
We are a startup company formed in Edinburgh in 2015 to create a platform for young people in Scotland’s film industry, and we’ve wrapped three short films and a music video in this time. The first of which, Russian Dolls, is newly released and already award-winning at the Glasgow First Act Film Festival.
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP?
Making films over the past year has taught us a lot, not only about the filmmaking process, but the film industry itself. One message that has been clear throughout is that there's no support for young people who want to make films.
So, this is a heartfelt request for your support, to put your trust in us when the industry doesn't give us a chance. We believe so passionately in what we're doing, and we always ensure we're doing things to a professional standard. We have a production plan in action, our shooting schedule set, a vibrant and impressive cast, and a twenty-seven-strong production team.
Our amazing cast and crew are all working for free with the belief that we can do something special with this project. With your support, the potential of this film is boundless. Not only can it be itself a great film, but also a starting point for so many talented young people who want to break into a seemingly inaccessible industry.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Glad you asked. We need £4000, and any donation you can offer is hugely appreciated. Your money will be spent on all aspects of the budget, from catering to equipment rental to music licensing. But it doesn't stop there. Any money we get over the £4000 will go towards our film festival campaign, so the film can be viewed all across the globe.
The more people we get behind this project, the more powerful it will be. So please, do share this with whoever you can, as we want to spread the word as much as possible.
And, if all that wasn't enough to sway you, we've also got a number of perks to tempt you with. These include:
- Credit in the final film where your name will appear at festivals across the globe
- Get early access to the film so you can watch it before it's public release
- Signed posters and scripts as a unique memento for your support
- VIP ticket to our end of year party where you can watch our year's projects
- Spend enough and you can guarantee yourself a speaking part in the film
