From nothing to becoming a commercial pilot

"I Never Dream of Becoming a Pilot" - This is my story.

**Hi everyone out there, before introducing myself I would like to ask for your little time to read about my story.**

My name is Mohammad Nur Akmad, or you can just call me "Mo" for short. I am a Filipino, 23 years of age, eldest in the family and single. Maybe some of you are wondering why I even ask for funding to become a commercial pilot yet the title of this article is totally opposite to my fund raising campaign. Yes, its true I never dream of becoming a pilot. When I was a child, I wanted to be a doctor. But never took a medical degree instead I took an engineering degree.

Now, what makes me decide or think that I want to pursue flying career? I can not give you a concrete answer about it. Maybe I can tell you that I am on a point in my life where I feel like I have a mission to become a part of people's dreams to travel places giving them the best and safest air travel. To travel and explore other places is everyone's desire. And I want also to inspire people especially the Moro people ("are the native Muslim inhabitants living in the Philippine Archipelago, whom most live in southwestern Mindanao") who are lack of opportunities because of prejudice and discrimination, that to be pilot or any other career that they want to pursue is worth trying. The only way to know is to try and there is no shortcut for that.

I don't belong to the poorest of the poor. My parents can't afford to send me to flying school due to the fact that their income is just good enough for my 6 siblings. I have been exploring different resources online to find a scholarship for flying career but I never got one, since most of the scholarship are not offered for Filipinos.

The money that I need to finish all the necessary training to secure a Commercial Pilot License is very huge amount. But this won't stop me, I am looking forward that there is someone who help me achieve this goal.
