Living in foster care is hard. I've been doing it for 5 years. My name is Nadia Goforth, I am a high school senior in Cincinnati, Ohio. My story's pretty complicated, so I won't bother to try to explain it here. 7 homes, 4 schools. This paragraph could not begin to explain what I've been through. But what I've been through doesn't really matter. It's where I'm going. I have excelled throughout high school, and have known that I always wanted to exceed the expectations. Did you know that less than 3% of foster kids in the US will earn a college degree? I choose to be one of them. In the fall, I will attending American University. An amazing and fairly selective university in Washington D.C., this school will provide great opportunities for me. I have earned about $20,000 in scholarships, but still have around $30,000 to go. I really need to find a way to pay for college without taking out loans. I'm independent now, and want to be able to pursue my education and dreams without fear that I am racking up thousands and thousands of dollars in debt. Please donate and help me go to the college of my dreams!
