A team of, let's say not regular, cyclists are making the journey from St Mary Magdelene Church in Hucknall to Chapel St Leonard's in Lincolnshire in order to raise funds to send 11-year-old Paige Shore to the NRW Trophy Ice Dance Championships in Dortmund, Germany.
Whilst the title of the event may say "bike ride", this will be a far from casual pedal through the countryside as the team will be going gun-ho in what will prove to be a tiring 8-hour non-stop journey.
Why are we doing this?
Paige is coached and trained by Olympic skater, Mark Hanretty, and recently won the 2016 British Championships with her partner, Billy. Thanks to her rapid uprising in the ice-skating world, she now has the chance to represent her country in Germany in the biggest Ice Dance competition in the world.
Naturally, these things cost. And, without sponsorship, Paige's family and friends have to subsidise the cost of entering any competition, which isn't cheap.
We are looking to raise £2,000 to get Paige over to Germany to compete and have the once-in-a-lifetime to have the chance to win a trophy for her country.
No donation is too small!
We appreciate every pound and penny that will be put into helping Paige chase her dream!
Please note that all funds will be going towards her travelling costs and equipment.
