From abuse to life…

Hello Everyone.

I am Nicole, a 33 year old mom of two resilient fun loving boys. Carter and Tyler. I have recently taken the biggest step in my life and that was to walk away from the abusive relationship that I was in. Gender based violence is heard about on the news, we read it in newspapers but never have I thought that I would be a statistic. Well, here I am. By the grace of God I am alive. From physical abuse to emotional to financial, I guess I got it all.

I was a working mom, a business development manager in the Apple industry and once my partner asked me to leave my job, it all went downhill from there. The control started. He would force me to sleep outside. throw water on the beds so that I can only sleep on the floor. He would hit me and kick me to name but a few. I stayed because I was always worried about the financial aspect... How would i feed my kids ect but I have taken the plunge and walked away. I am on the journey of self discovery and where ever possible, I educate people on abuse and direct them to professional assistance.
