Who we are
Friends of YYC is a fundraising project raising money for the Yorkshire Youth Choir.
Who are the Yorkshire Youth Choir?
The Yorkshire Youth Choir was formed in 2002, since then it has grown in numbers and now has over 160 members who meet twice a year at residential courses. The choir recently celebrated its 10th birthday with a large concert involving several past members and in the Summer of 2012 went on tour in Majorca, proving very popular with the locals and several parents who came along to support the choir.
During the week long residentials the members experience a varied programme of singing tuition from experts in different genres, learn a vast amount of new music and make life long friendships.
Why we are fundraising
Unfortunately due to government cuts the Yorkshire Youth Choir has lost its key funding and is relying on other sources to help run the residential courses. A group of past members found out about this loss in funding and decided to try and do something about it, the YYC was an integral part of our childhood and teenage years and the choir has been a massive part of our lives. We do not want anything to happen to this choir so we are trying our best to raise some money and keep it running.
Please help us by donating to this cause, every little helps! Keeping this choir going will really make an impact on past, present and future members lives.
