Campaign Story
The Friends of Umgeni is a registered non-profit organization founded in 1978 by Mr. Derek Edwards, who together with a group of friends realised the great need to improve the quality of life of patients at Umgeni Hospital. Umgeni Hospital is a specialised hospital situated in Howick, which provides care for intellectually challenged persons with physical and multiple disabilities. The degree of mental condition ranges from severe to profound.
With Corona Virus affecting more people each day and cooler weather approaching rapidly, we are raising funds to supply extra warm clothes and blankets for these vulnerable people.
