Lieve mensen,

Wij, een groep Nederlandse vrouwen in Italië, hebben ons het lot aangetrokken van Danielle Conjarts eveneens een Nederlandse vrouw woonachtig in Italië.

Danielle heeft een dochter van 21 jaar, Chiara Insidioso, die 2 jaar geleden zeer ernstig mishandeld is door haar vriend, zodanig, dat ze daardoor bijna een jaar in een coma gelegen heeft. Toen ze vorig jaar weer bij kwam, waren haar hersenen dusdanig beschadigd, dat ze nu nog slechts de mentale capaciteiten heeft van een baby, en volledig afhankelijk is geworden van haar familie en van gespecialiseerde zorg in haar omgeving.

Het verhaal op zich is al triest genoeg; Chiara was een vrolijke meid van 19 jaar, met een hartsvriendin, dol op dieren en voetbal, en haar hele leven nog voor zich, maar ze had een licht verstandelijke beperking waar een loverboy-achtige “vriend” flink misbruik van gemaakt heeft. Hij had haar niet alleen volledig in zijn macht, maar bleek ook zeer agressief te zijn, hetgeen haar ruim 2 jaar geleden fataal werd, toen hij haar diverse malen op haar hoofd trapte.

Maar voor Danielle heeft dit, naast het enorme verdriet dat ze heeft over het tragische lot van haar dochter, nog veel meer vervelende gevolgen gehad.

De dader heeft onlangs strafvermindering gekregen, waardoor hij over 8 jaar weer een vrij man is. Geen TBS, geen smartengeld. Dit is onverteerbaar en onbegrijpelijk voor Danielle.

Danielle is door alle toestanden haar huis en haar baan kwijtgeraakt, waardoor ze nu gedwongen is om bij vrienden in huis te wonen, echter, dat is op bijna 3 uur reizen met openbaar vervoer van de gespecialiseerde kliniek waar haar dochter is opgenomen. Deze reis maakt ze iedere dag, omdat het belangrijk voor haar is om dicht bij haar dochter te zijn.

Danielle leeft nu van een uitkering van 300 euro per maand, en is dringend op zoek naar een parttime baan in Rome. Voorheen heeft ze in hotels gewerkt, en een honden-uitlaat service gehad. Maar ze is bereid om elk werk te accepteren.
Daarnaast zoekt ze betaalbare woonruimte in Rome -Zuid, liefst rolstoel-vriendelijk, zodat ze haar dochter af en toe ook mee naar huis kan nemen.

Wij vragen iedereen die een steentje bij wil dragen, om haar te helpen!
Dat kan zijn door middel van het aanbieden van werk, van woonruimte, maar ook door een kleine financiële bijdrage zodat wij het leven van Danielle een stukje draagllijker te kunnen maken.

Cari amici,

siamo un gruppo di donne olandesi in Italia e ci stiamo interessando della vicenda di Danielle Conjarts, una donna e una mamma olandese che vive in Italia.

Danielle ha una figlia di 21 anni, Chiara Insidioso, che due anni fa è stata così pesantemente maltrattata dal suo cosiddetto “ragazzo” che per quasi un anno è rimasta in coma. Quando, circa un anno fa, si è risvegliata, il suo cervello era talmente danneggiato che ora ha a malapena la capacità mentale di un bambino piccolo. La ragazza è diventata completamente dipendente dalla sua famiglia e delle cure specialistiche che le vengono elargite nella sua regione.

La storia è tristissima: Chiara aveva 19 anni, un carattere allegro e un’amica del cuore, era una ragazza che amava gli animali e il calcio, ed aveva ancora tutta la vita davanti a sé. Chiara aveva un lieve handicap mentale ed il suo "ragazzo", ma sarebbe meglio dire il suo carnefice, ha abusato di questa sua debolezza. Non solo teneva Chiara completamente sotto controllo e l’aveva totalmente in pugno, ma si è anche rivelato molto aggressivo, un fatto che per Chiara è diventato fatale circa due anni fa, quando l’ha presa ripetutamente a calci in testa.

Oltre all'enorme dolore causatole dal tragico destino di sua figlia, Danielle, la mamma di Chiara, ha dovuto subire altre conseguenze, che le hanno reso la vita molto difficile.

L'autore del crimine ha recentemente ricevuto una riduzione della pena, e questo significa che tra 8 anni sarà di nuovo libero: senza obbligo di risarcimento danni e senza nessuna restrizione personale. Questo per Danielle è inaccettabile ed incomprensibile.

Inoltre, Danielle ha perso la casa e il lavoro, ed in questo momento è costretta ad abitare in casa di amici, a quasi tre ore di viaggio con i mezzi pubblici dalla clinica specializzata in cui si trova la figlia. Danielle fa questo viaggio ogni giorno per visitare sua figlia, quasi 3 ore all’andata e altrettante al ritorno, perché ovviamente è molto importante sia per lei che per Chiara stare vicine.

Danielle deve risolvere e affrontare tutti i suoi problemi da sola, e deve sopravvivere con un’indennità di 300 euro al mese. Per questi motivi le servirebbe trovare con urgenza un lavoro part-time a Roma. Nel passato ha lavorato in diversi alberghi, e faceva servizio di dog-sitter, ma è disposta ad accettare qualsiasi offerta di lavoro.

Inoltre è alla ricerca di un alloggio ad un prezzo accettabile a Roma Sud, preferibilmente accessibile con la sedia a rotelle, in modo che possa portare Chiara a casa di tanto in tanto.

Chiediamo di aiutarla a tutti coloro che vogliono dare un contributo!

Si può contribuire offrendo un lavoro, uno spazio abitativo o dando un piccolo contributo. Così potremo rendere la vita di Danielle un po’ più sopportabile.

Dear reader,

We, a group of Dutch women in Italy, have taken to heart the situation of Danielle Conjarts, a Dutch lady, also living in Italy.

Danielle has a 21 year old daughter, Chiara Insidioso, who was brutally physically abused 2 years ago by her boyfriend. This put her into a coma for almost a year. When she came out of the coma last year, her brain was severely damaged. She was profoundly incapacitated and became completely dependent on her family and specialist care.

Her story is sad enough as it is; Chiara was a cheerful young woman of 19 years old, with a BFF (best friend forever), was very fond of animals and soccer. She had her whole life in front of her. She had a mild mental handicap and was abused by her “lover boy” type “boyfriend”. He didn’t just have complete power over her, but turned out to be also very aggressive, which became nearly fatal when he kicked her head several times 2 years ago.

For her mother, Danielle, as well as enormous sadness over what happened to her daughter, there were many more consequences.

The offender’s punishment has recently been decreased, and he’ll be a free man again in 8 years. No parole or psychological monitoring. The family couldn’t claim any money from him. This is incomprehensible to Danielle.

Danielle has lost her job and her home because of all her worries and wanting to take care of her daughter. Luckily she was taken in by friends. However, they live 3 hours away by public transport from the specialised clinic where her daughter is, so her daily travel time is 6 hours. She makes this trip every day, because it’s important for her and Chiara to be together.

Danielle lives on benefits of 300 Euros a month, and is desperately looking for a job in Rome. She has worked in hotels and had a small dog walking business. She is however willing to accept any job. She is also looking for affordable housing in the South of Rome, preferably wheelchair friendly, so she can take her daughter home with her, more and more often, hopefully.

We ask everyone to help her to make life a bit more bearable. That could be by offering her a job, a place to live, or small financial aid.
