Fresh Start in Boulder, CO

Hi everyone!

Thanks so much for visiting my page! My name is Matt Davis and I am 22 years old. I currently live in Southern Maryland at home with my parents.

A Brief History:

I attended Chopticon High School, also located in Southern MD, and graduated in 2008 ranked 5th in my class. There was only one college I had any intention of going to and that was St. Mary's College of Maryland, Maryland's only public honor's college. I attended SMCM for almost four years and studied economics, mathematics and computer science. I completed minors in all three subjects and am about a year shy of completing the major in economics. During my fourth year in school my dad became very ill and was hospitalized in ICU for several weeks, unresponsive for weeks. It was an incredibly difficult time for my family but thankfully he made an eventual recovery. This experience greatly impacted me psychologically and I went through a long period of depression during my fourth year of school. I ended up withdrawing from the College and returning home to spend time with my dad and family. This time spent healed many wounds and put us all on the path to recovery.

However, it is now time for me to continue on with my life that I put on pause. I decided I wanted a completely fresh start, in a brand new environment to work and return to school. The place I have decided upon is Boulder, Colorado and Colorado University. This small mounatin town is ranked in the top ten in many categories among U.S. cities, such as: happiest cities, healthiest, most educated, "outdoorsy", etc. Basically, it seems like a great place for a healthy fresh start to continue and nourish my new found mental well-being, as well as finish my education and start a career.

How Your Donations Will Help!

As I have spent the last year or so simply spending time with my father and caring for him in our simultaneous paths to recovery, I am starting from scratch with my plans to relocate half-way across the country. Your donations will help pay for my transportation to my new home as well as provide me with something to help establish myself, i.e. buying food, first months rent, etc., until I find employment in Boulder.
