Freelance creative on the brink of homelessness due to premature tenancy termination

Hey! If you're reading this, thank you for your time. My name is Maureen, a freelance interior designer. Mostly self sufficient but life post COVID has been both overwhelming and difficult and business hasn't been doing too well. I took a leap of faith, bet on myself and invested in my small Interior Design business right before the pandemic broke out. Things took a turn for the worse and my business suffered a huge loss.

I'm currently locked out of my apartment and have been for the past three weeks. Not having any family to fall back on, I've been in between friends' houses. I have $500 in rent arrears and another $500 due for this month and let's be honest, October is coming to an end and November is right around the corner. My landlord is threatening to auction what I own to recover what I owe and is also threatening to terminate my lease prematurely. I need $1,500 to be able to cover the rent owed and that which is due. This fundraiser will help me break even , get a roof over my head again and allow me to rebuild.

The past two months have been the roughest for me. It's taken a toll on me mentally, emotionally and physically. Despite not being in the right mental headspace, I have tried my best to show up and do the best I can to fend for myself creatively. It's taken a lot for me to come on here and ask for help but I've come to terms with the fact that I can't carry this load by myself and every once in a while we all need a helping hand, someone to lift us up.
