Featherlight Free range farm is village based-business premised on indigenous ways of producing ethical food using less distractive methods and processes. The aim is to recreate the healthy relationship between society has with food while also meeting social upliftment objectives. In our attempt to close the gap between society and its food resources we will narrow the relationship between food production and consumption.

Our concept is based on the production of healthy free range poultry produce from chicken raised ethically in a natural environment. The farm will adopt humane farming practices and adhere to a model code of practice that will ensure highest quality poultry and egg production. We combine indigenous farming methods and alternative contemporary farming techniques to produce food that comes from the soul.

Our core produce: Free range poultry and organic vegetables

Our business model is aimed at creative sustainable rural economies through skills transfer and cultivating entrepreneurship among women and youth. We will promote One Home One Garden programme in the community and provide training and mentorship to aspiring farmers. The business will serve as an Agri-Hub and an entrepreneurship centre for community members. We will buy vegetables and egg produce from small farmers with an intention to sell them to the market.
