A young man stands in a factory. It’s dusty, machines are roaring and people around him seem like robots. The young man is staring out of a small window high on the wall. He sees the clouds passing by and the branches on a tree moving. A bell rings and all the workers put down their work and move towards the cafeteria. The young man walks towards the exit.
I am this young man and I have decided that it’s been enough. I need more in life than a 9 to 5 in a dusty old factory. With the money I saved from minimum wage I’m gonna go on an adventure. An adventure in which I will cycle from my hometown Enschede. Through the breweries of Belgium, onwards to the vineyards of France and to white coasts of Spain all the way to the street of Gibraltar. There I will put my bike and myself on a boat to cross to Morocco. And I will document this all and make it into a documentary.
The documentary will be about the free life. The life on the road. Getting to meet the caveman Joery who is not scared to go out and explore. About saddle pain, struggles to find a sleeping spot. But above all it will be about adventure. Waking up in the middle of nowhere, catching fish to survive, living of the land.
Besides the travel documentary I want to make a movie about my biggest passion: rollerblading. I want to visit the big international hotspots, like Luxemburg, Paris, Montpellier, Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga. And every spot and skater I meet on my way. See the differences between the different skate cultures in Europe. And meet the thousands of people who all have one thing in common: Rollerblading. I already have some big names in the scene who I will meet on the way like: Nick Lomax, Josh Glowicki, Yuri Botello and Aritz Ortega.
I saved up for this adventure, but I would be fifty by the time I have enough with my current pay. So I’m looking for people who want to sponsor me. I need money for camera gear, repair costs, and unexpected expenses. I will make advertisements for people and companies who invest in me. Think about logo’s on my gear, showing your company in the credits or a personal shootout on your birthday.
