Originally from Jamaica, Dunga entered the UK when he was just 6 years old and was fostered almost immediately into his current family. Since his arrival, he has attended both primary and secondary schools in this country. Despite Dunga’s only vision of home being that of Clapham Common, where all his family and friends reside, he has spent the last year and 10 months in an Immigration Removal Centre outside of London. Dunga is 19.
Weeks after his 18th birthday, Dunga was visited by the Immigration Police, who detained him under the charge of illegally living in the UK. Dunga is just one of the thousands of people subject to the injustice and inhumanity of the British Immigration System, which functions on the basis of exclusion.
Dunga is in the middle of his final trial, which will determine his deportation or freedom to remain in the UK. Dunga decided to fight his case through the “Right to a Family Life and Private Life” (Article 8: Human Rights Act) and is therefore not eligible to receive financial aid. We are 400 pounds short of a lawyer, without whom Dunga is almost guaranteed deportation back to a country he does not remember.
Please donate anything you can, every pound will contribute to reuniting Dunga with his family and allowing his re-entry back into his rightful home!
Lets have justice and freedom for Dunga
