I firmly believe that no child or elderly should be denied food just because they have no money.I came across this video a few months ago and it struck many many emotional chord within me, remembering the some days during my childhood where I would go hungry. Inspired by this video and this concept of paying what you can, I turning to crowdfunding in the hope that this will be made possible. The location of this space would likely be an estate with a larger elderly population, probably queenstown, tanglin halt. I have done some research and this is the rough breakdown of the fund required. As manpower will be limited, we will be using automation to overcome manpower shortage.
- Oven - $1500
- Dough mixer - $700
- Freezer - Donated by a kind soul - 2nd hand
- Baker tables - $500
- Utensil(Pans/Rolling pin etc etc)
- Display case - $500
- Rental of shop space plus operating cost plus rare materials for bread and purchase of ready made bread for distribution to the needy - 3000 x 12 = $36000
While i do not know whether this bakery would end up like the one in video where the money and enough to cover the running cost, I trust in humanity and God, I pray and hope that that will be the case. If we end up losing money, at least we will be happy that we have helped some less fortunate of our society have something to eat during the time it was operating. Please note I am not doing this as a business but social enterprise. Any profit if any, will be given back to charity organizations.
Thanks for taking your time to read this. God Bless.
