Free Anel

Anel Chaves is a 45 year old Bisexual Mexican man who is seeking asylum in the US, fleeing homophobic violence in Mexico. He surrendered himself at the border in January of 2018 and has been held at the Otay Mesa Detention Center ever since, waiting to fight for his asylum case and be granted the right to stay here. He currently has a sponsor in San Diego and bond set for the court minimum of $1500. If released he will have the freedom and capacity to seek legal assistance beyond the limited resources available to him in the detention center.

Please help us FREE ANEL. He has faces certain discrimination and harm if he were to be deported to Mexico, and deserves the chance to live here in peace away from those who would do him harm.
