“A good friend is a friend that will always be there for you no matter what. No matter if times are difficult or if times are the best that they have ever been, a true friend will either be right by your side or be there as soon as you call."

Dear family, friends and beloved, it is one of those times where we get to do the same for our dear friend Frank - who has always been there for us – and for his family who need our help.

At the young age of 46, Franck originally from France, now living in Hong Kong, was diagnosed with kidney cancer (stage 4) with bone and lung metastasis on March 23rd, 2020. His cancer is now general.

Since the news took them by surprise, Frank and his family, in shock, are certainly not prepared for what’s to come and the consequences of this unfortunate tragedy.

Frank is a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, friend and an amazing Chef.

Born in August 1973 in Cherbourg. Son of Jean-Yves and Maryvonne. Brother of two siblings - Jerome (44) and Sophie (40) – Frank had an immediate love for Food as a little boy. He learnt the basics when he spent time watching his mum and aunties in the back of their kitchens. As he grew fonder of the Art, he went into waitressing in Granville, then to school to finally start his first step as a Chef in Cannes, south of France. The English language was also one of his passions, so he decided to give cooking a shot in London where he stayed eight years and accomplished one of his best works.

Later then, his dearest friends, who built a few restaurants in Hong Kong, asked him to join them into their Asian adventure. Frank didn’t hesitate. He flew straight away to Asia where he has been now for the past 9 years. He is the Chef of Metropolitain Restaurant in Sai Ying Pun since 2013. An experience and life that he is grateful of. A city where he met Edah, his wife and where he became a dad of two. Nara (3 years old) and Maël (5 years old).

Frank is not only a wonderful father and husband, but also a true friend. His affection and dedication for anyone who crosses his path doesn’t stop here. He has an intense love for life and a positive energy which he desperately needs at this stage of his life.

Throughout his travel, he has met incredible people. He is well surrounded and to this day, we know that no matter what, we will be there for him as he was for us when we needed him the most. It is a shock to all of us to have learn about his sickness.

"You don't have to. You get to. »

The cancer is spreading severely. Frank just had a pulmonary oedema on April the 20th, 2020. He is now hospitalized at Queen’s Mary Hospital in Hong Kong. Sadly, he is too weak to receive any sorts of treatment. When the time is right, doctors will start with a target therapy to ease his lungs condition to then continue with an immunotherapy as soon as his body allows them to do so.

His first treatment costs $170,956 HKD (20,000 Euro).

The rest of the estimated medical fees are yet to be determined and any additional cost will come to impact them significantly therefore, they need our support. The insurance will only cover a fraction of the cost and anything else on the top of the medical bills will affect them tremendously.

The target in this platform is in Hong Kong Dollars.

Every little bit counts. All your donations will go directly to his medical costs and on-going treatments and/or anything else they need to facilitate their dreadful situation

There are few different options to participate. For now, you may click the link below.

We thank you wholeheartedly for reading those words and for your support. We hope you can also help us forward this message to anyone who may be able to help.

We will keep you posted in this page and through a support group.

You are all truly making a difference today.

"Never leave a friend behind. Friends are all we have to get us through this life-and they are the only things from this world that we could hope to see in the next."

Thank you so much for your help,

Lebiez Family.
