Have you ever not donated to a charity because you thought that maybe only a small percentage actually goes to the people that so badly need it?
Hi I'm Nic and I want to drive over and deliver clothes/food and work for a few days as a volunteer assisting the displaced refugees in France.
Since the closure of the 'jungle', refugees have not been housed, but instead are now displaced around various parts of France.
I'm in contact with Care4Calais, a charity set up who are currently providing a critical service to these refugees, and with their assistance I hope to be able to make a difference and do my part.
I need as much £ as possible, I'm estimating that it would take £500 to fill my car with goods which I will then commit to paying (out of my pocket which i estimate to be around £150-£200) for fuel/board/travel as well as a few leave days from work to put your money into action where it's needed the most. If I can raise more, then I'll repeat the trip for every £500 I can raise. If I can fill the car with less money, I'll make the trip earlier.
The things I'll purchase are straight out of the Care4Calais guide below, if you'd rather donate the goods themselves, please contact me and I'll happily collect and deliver.
