Welcome Patron,
This ongoing campaign for global artists highlights the Trinidad and Tobago word-smith, Sydney Friday in the Child's Eye Global Artists’ Collective project - 2021. This project is ongoing and requires your funding for success. For example, your contribution can support Sydney and many other future artists' participation in opportunities such as a three-month writer's retreat hosted by Necessary Arts - Trinidad and Tobago - challenging this young writer to produce 25-30 poems worthy of publication.
Journalist and educator Ms. Debbie Jacob, who was Sydney's teacher and mentor during his teenage years of incarceration, shares this, "Sydney Marc Friday is one of the best creative writers I ever taught in my 27 years of teaching. His writing voice reflects a side of Trinidad no one has ever covered. His voice, so powerful and so original became a defining voice in Wishing for Wings, my book on the CXC English class he attended in YTC."
When completed, Sydney Friday's collection of poetry will continue the journey of the Child's Eye Global Artists' Collective project intended to raise global awareness around issues of mental strength and wellbeing. The first production of the Child’s Eye project was funded by Naima Thompson who now requires a community of financial supporters to continue making it happen. The vision is to create opportunities such as our prototype where global artists can share commonalities and differences through interpretations of each other's work. The Child's Eye project culminates in a published book of Sydney Friday's poems and interpretations of them by creatives selected from each of our continents.
With your contributions, we can create and sustain a platform for young global-minded artists who gravitate to the power of art as a means of mental strength and wellbeing.
In response to my lifelong question, "What can I do" this is what I can do. Thank you for what you can do!.
Be well, be safe, be free
Regards
Naima Thompson

Great initiative! Giving talented artists a plattform and a chance to be seen and recognised is awesome and worth supporting. What would life be without art?
