Beas Journey!

Beatrice Coetser and myself Aaron Jones met in 2009 at a game lodge in the Kruger park and have been together ever since. In April 2019 I proposed to the love of my life and we got engaged. In October 2019 she was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. This is the worst kind of breast cancer and only responds to chemotherapy. This is still not even a given that it would work. From the start Beatrice took it head on with a positive attitude and the heart of a lion. 6 sessions of chemotherapy and 6 months later the oncologist was happy with the results as the cancer had basically disappeared. Next step was a big operation to have a double mastectomy. After the operation every day for a full month she had to had to have radiation on her breast that had the cancer. .After this she was officially put into remission. All of this happening during 2020 Covid pandemic and working in the tourism industry it crippled us and many others. November 2020 Beatrice was on a game drive and had a seizure. We went to the hospital and after many tests and scans they detected a small growth on her brain. Next step was going back to the oncologist and having many more scans and tests done. A decision to have brain surgery ASAP was made and this took place within 10 days of the seizure. Because the growth was on the speech and movement part of her brain she had to be awake for this procedure and smashed the operation like a warrior. They managed to remove the entire growth without affecting her speech or movement . After a couple weeks of recovery the tests came back that the growth was a positive for cancer. This means that she has to go for intensive radiation on her brain now in January 2021. We are very proud and independent people but any donation to help us finally kill this evil disease will mean the world to us.
