“Merly will make it!”
Merly was rushed to the hospital on October 2 and is now fighting for her life as she battles Level 2 Hemorrhagic Cerebral bleeding in her right brain. This has weakened the left part of her body and has resulted to a series of heart attacks and convulsions. As doctors described it, her physical state is deteriorating. However, we believe that with proper care and procedures, and continued care in a good hospital, Merly will make it! With her insurance coverage already maxed out and limited resources, it is impossible to receive the procedures that are necessary to give her a chance. But with our help and faith in God, we know there is a chance.
Merly is in The Medical City in Pasig City, Philippines which was the closest hospital at the time of the incident. The current bill (as of Oct 20) is already more than PHP 1,000,000 (USD 20,000+) and this is expected to rise as each day passes. The fundraised amount will help cover procedures, operations, continued medication, and continued care even after ICU.
Merly has been a survivor since the day she left her family from their remote province of Mindanao to find a job that can provide for her parents and siblings. In 2015 her mother passed away, and few years after her father also joined her mom in heaven. This series of unfortunate events in their family depleted their financial resources. She has sacrificed so much of her personal happiness to help her family and friends.
Today, we cry for help because we believe that she greatly deserves this chance. What she has given to others, we believe she will receive in return. We sincerely thank you for your generosity and willingness to help.
